Ida B. Brooker was born in Seattle and raised in the Puget Sound area and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Washington in 1975.
Ida has been in the Construction Industry for more than 40 years and has had the opportunity to work in construction from all perspectives of the market – suppliers, subcontractors, general contractors and owners.
Ida’s construction contracts experience across the country has led to her thirty year career with The Boeing Company working on both major international and domestic projects. She served on the advisory board to the U.S. State Department regarding U.S. Embassies through-out the world from 2001 to 2005.
Ida currently serves on the national board and is a charter member of Women Construction Owners & Executives, USA (WCOE). This association, established in 1984, is a 501C6 non-profit national association dedicated to promoting women in the construction industry. Mrs. Brooker was also a founding member and served as President of the chapters for California and Washington States. Currently she is serving as President of the 501C3 non-profit national organization: Resource Center for Women Construction Owners and Executives, USA and is currently working on developing a series of webinar programs for the Resource Center.
