·   Conducts a personal interview and tour of school with the family

·   Requests student’s previous assessments, IEPs and school records

·   Administers academic assessment to determine placement in curriculum

·   Hosts the student for a 3-5 day visit

·   Collects teacher feedback to determine student fit with the NHS environment and whether NHS can adequately serve the student’s needs

·   Recommends placement at appropriate level of instruction
