POSITION AVAILABLE: Secretary/Receptionist/Front Desk Staff

New Horizon School is seeking a secretary/receptionist/front desk staff. The staff member must have empathy for and a genuine interest in working in an office environment for a school with elementary, middle school, and high school students with Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and executive function difficulties. Applicant must be prepared to support and maintain general office operations, guide student office assistants and/or office volunteers, support coordination of activities in the office and in the school, schedule appointments, receive incoming calls, take and relay messages, place calls, receive and direct visitors, compose correspondence and documents, and support flow of work in the school office.

  • Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years of college
  • Minimum 2-3 years of office work experience
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Comfortable interacting with staff, faculty, students, parents, and guests
  • Excellent organizational, phone, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office

New Horizon School is seeking a special education para educator. The new para educator must have empathy for and a genuine interest in developing positive education experiences for elementary, middle school, and high school students with Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and executive function difficulties. Applicant must be prepared to assist students with math, reading, writing, and other class assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree from a 2 year college or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience working with school age children
  • Ability to assist students in individual or group activities
  • Ability to assist students in interpreting and following teacher directions
  •  Ability to assist teacher with supervisory duties such as before school, break, lunch, and after school

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Positive attitude with a sense of humor
  • Good written and verbal skills

Salary
Per NHS salary schedule (dependent on experience and education)
