Carrie VanZant holds a Degree in Nursing from Pewaukee College, BS Degree in Chemistry from Alverno College, an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management and, a Ph.D. in Public Health from Walden University.
After years of delivering direct patient care, Carrie spent the majority of her career in healthcare leadership management. Her expertise includes new business development, strategic planning and executing business plans. She has developed these skillsets over the past several years working as an Executive at Cerner Corporation, Vice President of Primary Care Operations at Sea Mar Community Health Centers and Associate Vice President of the Palliative Care Portfolio at Providence St. Joseph Health.
Carrie has served on several boards: King County Alliance of Human Services; Leadership Action Planning; Regional Care Transition; and, SW Project Access Board. Carrie is a dedicated community activist – Co-Founder of SEED: Specialized Education and Excellence for Different Learners; Union Gospel Mission: Prepare and serve food for women and children’s program; CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocate; and volunteers for Seattle International Film Festival.
Carrie believes serving on the New Horizon School’s Board of Directors provides an opportunity to give back to the community that provides unique and vital services for children with learning differences. Carrie’s daughter has benefited directly from the academic environment and community New Horizon School offers. During this time. Carrie has been privileged to provide encouraging support to individual teachers and students of New Horizon School and has been involved regularly in fund raising opportunities and activities.
