New Horizon has many volunteers opportunities available for people who value the education of students with learning differences.   We especially need volunteers in the positions listed below.

Board Member

We are looking for people with experience in fundraising, marketing, finance, special education, nonprofit law and evaluation to participate in governance, strategic planning, and policy making.   We especially need board members who will help us build our development program and maintain our high standards of accountability.  Candidates must have a passion for helping students with learning differences.   Our board meets monthly at the school.  We provide orientation for new board members. 

If interested, please email janet.f-d@comcast.net and briefly state why you are interested in the position, your background, and how to contact you.  We will call or email you to arrange an interview.  Nominees will be placed on the ballot for elections held in May, or at other times of the year may be appointed to an unfilled community position.  

If you are unable to commit to a working board, please consider joining one of our board committees.  They are  Finance, Development, Strategic Planning, Policy, Facilities Master Planning and Board Development.

Development Committee Member

The Finance Committee approves the annual budget, oversees the audit and maintains our high standards of financial accountability.  We need people with skill in finance, accounting, and investment policy.
